(Wheel of Life Exercise Included!)
It's very easy to get lost in work, or caught up with family and friends, leaving us feeling out of touch with parts of our lives.
I recently experienced burn-out after having spent 8 months working all hours to set up my business. With my Husband working away, it was easy for me to sit at my computer all day every day - and usually late into the night.
I lost myself in my work, something I didn't even realise was happening until Hubby got home after 3 months and barely recognised the person I'd become.
I learnt the hard way that Balance in our lives is so very important. I now limit the hours I work, I've rediscovered my love of reading, and am spending more time looking after my house and garden again.
Where are you spending too much time in Your life?
What areas of your life are suffering because of this?
What can you do to bring balance back into your life?
Having a good work/life balance is essential to our well-being. Having strict boundaries between work and home life can help separate the two: Try not to take your work home with you, easier if you don't work from home admittedly, but there are ways to break with your work day - ten minutes meditation/conscious breathing or a short walk in nature for example.
Make time for fun during your day - whether this be half an hour playing online games, painting with your kids, watching something lighthearted for a few laughs - having fun plays just as much a role in bringing balance to our lives as anything else.
How are you having fun today?
What can you do to bring more fun and play into your life?
What does your Inner Child want to do today?
When we take the time to look inside ourselves, honestly, we can discover the areas that are lacking in balance.. This can show up in many different ways:
Miscommunication in relationships
Not making enough time to look after Ourselves
Not doing enough physical exercise
Working too hard
Not having fun every day
Unhealthy diet
This Wheel of Life exercise (Click to open link), helps us to discover the areas of our lives that are out of balance - where we are giving too much energy and attention to some areas, and not enough to others. This is a great exercise to complete every few months so that you can check your progress. Let me know how you get on in the comments!
Having identified the areas of your life that require attention, Reiki can help bring that balance into your life. Just one Reiki session can help you to feel more in control of your life, of your emotions and bring back that sense of balance that has been lacking.
The deep relaxing state that Reiki induces, allows your brain to better communicate with the areas of your body that most require healing and release, effectively allowing your body to heal itself. This, in turn, will leave you feeling relaxed, confident and prepared to make any changes you feel necessary.
