Forgiving someone for the hurt and pain they have caused us doesn't mean allowing them back into our lives, it means showing them compassionate and unconditional love in accepting them for who they are.
Understanding that someone who is in pain will cause pain helps us find the compassion to forgive them.
When we practise forgiveness it helps us to release any pain or hurt we are still experiencing and it brings peace to our hearts.
Forgiveness teaches us to live with our hurt, pain or anger in a healthier way and gain further wisdom from our experiences.
We also need to forgive ourselves for the part we may have played in hurting others. We also were acting from the best place that we could and we must afford ourselves the same compassion and acceptance that we show those around us.

Declaration of Forgiveness:
I forgive everyone who has ever hurt or harmed me, consciously or unconsciously, in this lifetime or any other, in this universe, dimension, plane or level of existence or any other.
I offer them grace.
I ask forgiveness for everything I have ever done to hurt or harm another, consciously or unconsciously, in this lifetime or any other, in this universe, dimension, plane or level of existence or any other.
I ask for grace.
I forgive myself for everything I have ever done to hurt or harm another, consciously or unconsciously, in this lifetime or any other, in this universe, dimension, plane or level of existence or any other.
I accept grace.
I am free and joyful. All chains and restrictions fall from me. I stand in my full power as a master.
So be it. It is done.
